Biography

Education: Graduated in pedagogy and sociology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb (2001), with the thesis topic Adolescents' Leisure, mentorship by professor Vlatko Previšić. In the academic year 2006/2007 enrolled in the university postgraduate doctoral study of pedagogy at the Department of Pedagogy, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. Doctoral thesis entitled The role of social networks in adolescent peer relationships, mentorship by professor Vlatko Previšić, defended at the beginning of 2014 at the Department of Pedagogy, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb; obtained the academic degree Doctor of Science, field of social sciences, scientific field of pedagogy. Completed professional training in Montessori pedagogy (2013-2015) organized by Montessori - Vereinigung Steiermark KPH Graz and the Institute for Montessori Pedagogy Zagreb. Completed professional training for Montessori assistant professor in the field of theory (2016-2020) organized by Montessori - Vereinigung Steiermark KPH Graz and the Institute for Montessori Pedagogy Zagreb. Both trainings are conducted according to the program of the Austrian Montessori Association (Montessori Osterreich / Bundersverband) which is a member of the Montessori Europe organization.

Work experience: After completing her studies, she was employed as a professional associate in the Department for Children and Youth in the State Institute for the Protection of the Family, Motherhood and Youth (later Ministry of Family, Veterans' Affairs and Intergenerational Solidarity). At the same time, she holds the position of Secretary of the National Committee for the Prevention of Behavior Disorders in Children and Youth (2002-2004). After completing the internship, she takes the State Professional Exam (2004). In the period from 2004-2005 she studies English in Cambridge, UK, where she obtains an internationally recognized CAE degree. Upon her return, she was employed as a professional associate - pedagogue in three city kindergartens in Zagreb (temporary jobs for a total of one year). In 2006 she was employed as an assistant researcher in the project ‘Methodology and structure of the national curriculum’ and then in the project ‘Curriculum of social competencies and relations in school’ (since 2007), both under the leadership of professor Vlatko Previšić at the Department of Pedagogy, Faculty of Humanities and social Studies, University of Zagreb. She participated in all phases in five scientific projects: development of theoretical framework, conceptualization, and operationalization of individual sections of the project, implementation of empirical research, interpretation of results, presentation of results to the scientific and professional public. In the period from the academic year 2006/2007 until 2020/2021 at the Department of Pedagogy she teaches undergraduate and graduate studies, first as a teaching assistant and later as a lecturer / assistant professor in the courses Pedagogy of Adolescence, Basics of Social Pedagogy, Leisure Pedagogy, Professional-Pedagogical Practice of Leisure Pedagogy and Alternative Pedagogical Ideas and Schools. For one academic year, she taught the course Virtual Education and seminars in the courses Basics of Special Pedagogy and Methodology of Working with Students with Special Needs. She has mentored more than 50 graduate theses in the fields of alternative schools, media pedagogy, adolescence pedagogy, leisure pedagogy and social pedagogy. She has been a guest lecturer / assistant professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Education in Mostar, the Faculty of Croatian Studies and the Department of Philosophy at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. She was a member of the Committee for Ethics in Pedagogical Research (2019/2020 and 2020/2021) and a deputy member of the Faculty Council (2020/2021) at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. Since March 2021, she has been employed at the Department of Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Croatian Studies.

Hrvatski studiji Sveučilišta u Zagrebu pokrenuti su i ustrojeni 16. studenoga 1992., isprva samo kao dvosemestralni Sveučilišni komparativni studij hrvatske filozofije i društva. Taj je program potom preoblikovan u program redovitog četverogodišnjeg studija.
