Biography

Katarina Jelić was born in Šibenik in 1990. She completed her undergraduate study of Psychology at the University of Zadar, with a thesis on social stigma and Brickman's model of helping. She finished her graduate study at the same university with a Master's thesis on the role of perfectionism and parenting styles in explaining depression in adolescents. During her studies, she completed Basic training in reality psychotherapy and choice theory. After completing the vocational training, she passed her professional exam at the Croatian Psychological Chamber, of which she is a member. She is currently attending the Postgraduate University Study of Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Rijeka.

Besides working in several vocational high schools as a psychology teacher, she is experienced in the field of civil society, social welfare and education, and in providing psychological counselling services for youth and adults. Furthermore, she participated in the national project of psychosocial empowerment of Croatian veterans and the work of the RAN - Radicalization Awareness Network, which brings together experts from all over Europe. She created and implemented numerous prevention programs for children and youth (peer violence, addiction, school drop-out, mental health) and is the co-author of several professional publications on the topic of prevention. Also, she is continuously improving in the fields of counselling and clinical practice and publishing scientific papers.
