Biography

Born in 1977. in Split, Croatia. In 2002 he graduated in philosophy and sociology at the Centre for Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb, and received his PhD  from the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb (PhD in biology ) in 2010, with the thesis "Sex ratio at birth in Croatia 1946-2008: an analysis of population and environmental factors". He attended the University of California, Berkeley, Department of Demography (Junior Faculty Development Program, one semester) and the summer school at University of Utrecht. He participated in two research projects ("Media influence on Croatian family" and "Evolutionary Naturalism and the problem of moral knowledge"), and two projects headed by Ministry of Science and Education (Implementation of EU Agenda for Adult Education 2015-2017, and 2017-2019). Dr Pavic has published papers in national and international scientific journals and has participated in several international scientific conferences in Croatia and the United States. He has given several invited lectures. The areas of ​​his scientific interest are demography, reproductive ecology, the application of statistical programs, teaching scientific communication and lifelong learning.

Informations

Hrvatski studiji Sveučilišta u Zagrebu pokrenuti su i ustrojeni 16. studenoga 1992., isprva samo kao dvosemestralni Sveučilišni komparativni studij hrvatske filozofije i društva. Taj je program potom preoblikovan u program redovitog četverogodišnjeg studija.
