About us

The Study of Philosophy and Culture encourages students to continuously pose new questions about the meaning of human life and the structures within which that meaning is produced, while also enabling them to develop the ability for independent critical thinking about the world. Through the Philosophy and Culture program at the Faculty of Croatian Studies, students gain foundational knowledge in major philosophical disciplines and develop analytical, interpretive, and argumentative skills.

During their studies, students are introduced to fundamental themes and issues in philosophy, acquiring basic knowledge of ancient, medieval, modern, and contemporary philosophy, as well as core philosophical disciplines such as metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, aesthetics, logic, philosophy of culture, social and political philosophy, philosophy of history, philosophy of language, and the history of Croatian philosophy.

In addition to these disciplines, our professors offer insights into market-relevant and contemporary topics such as artificial intelligence, philosophy of sport, transhumanism, bioethics, and the philosophy of globalization. Our professors continually expand this range of knowledge and interests through interaction with students, offering courses that are relevant to contemporary global issues.
