All teaching activities will be held in Croatian. However, foreign students in mixed groups will have the opportunity to attend additional office hours with the lecturer and teaching assistants in English to help master the course materials. Additionally, the lecturer will refer foreign students to the corresponding literature in English, as well as give them the possibility of taking the associated exams in English.

Description:
Class objectives:
Introducing students to the history of the most famous archaeological sites (settlements, towns, necropolises), the history of their research and famous people who are responsible for numerous famous discoveries related to ancient history. During the semester, the importance of preserving archaeological sites and numerous objects that today serve as an important historical source for the study of ancient history will be emphasized. Thus, in the processing of individual units there will be talk about famous people who have discovered various famous historical sources and about museum collections in which they are kept today. In doing so, databases of archival and imaging material will be presented, which clearly document the development of archaeological research of individual spaces.
Learning outcomes:
  1. identify and present the development of archaeological research of ancient history
  2. analyse the development of individual sites and the history of their research
  3. identify the most important field researchers of ancient history
  4. identify and reproduce the most important historical sites of ancient history
  5. connect knowledge about the development of individual cities and localities and their importance for the ancient history
  6. describe archaeological research of individual sites and their most important researchers
  7. present and evaluate the importance of individual scientists for the developments of old history
  8. reproduce the most important information about cities, necropolises and researchers of ancient history

Hrvatski studiji Sveučilišta u Zagrebu pokrenuti su i ustrojeni 16. studenoga 1992., isprva samo kao dvosemestralni Sveučilišni komparativni studij hrvatske filozofije i društva. Taj je program potom preoblikovan u program redovitog četverogodišnjeg studija.
