On Monday, 4 April 2022, at a ceremony in Pécs, Hungary, an Agreement on Permanent Cooperation was signed between the Faculty of Croatian Studies of University of Zagreb and “Miroslav Krleža“ Croatian Kindergarten, Primary School, Gymnasium and Students Dormitory in Pécs. On behalf of the Croatian Education Centre in Pécs the Agreement was signed by director Janja Živković, and on behalf of the Faculty of Croatian Studies, by special power of attorney of the Dean Ivo Džinić, by Professor Sanja Vulić. It was signed in Croatian and Hungarian. Editors and journalists of the Croatian Radio in Pécs and “Hrvatski glasnik”, a weekly for Croats in Hungary, attended the signing ceremony.

“Miroslav Krleža“ Croatian Kindergarten, Primary School, Gymnasium and Students Dormitory in Pécs teaches its students the Croatian language in order to preserve Croatian culture and language among Croats in Hungary. That is why within the project Cooperation with Croatian Autochthonous Diaspora Communities a permanent cooperation between this educational centre and the Faculty of Croatian Studies is established. The Agreement regulates the teaching practice at the Croatian school in Pécs for the teachers and students of the university graduate study of croatology, teaching stream.

The Faculty of Croatian Studies concluded similar agreements with two other Croatian schools in Hungary: on 16 November 2017 in Deutschkreutz and on 9 April 2019 in Sellye.

Hrvatski studiji Sveučilišta u Zagrebu pokrenuti su i ustrojeni 16. studenoga 1992., isprva samo kao dvosemestralni Sveučilišni komparativni studij hrvatske filozofije i društva. Taj je program potom preoblikovan u program redovitog četverogodišnjeg studija.
