Graduate study of Croatology is organized in form of cultural studies in the field of Croatology in the interdisciplinary scientific field. It is dedicated to the study of Croatian cultural and national identity. It is the central interdisciplinary study programme, pivotal for the development of the concept of the Croatian Studies. Apart from learning and studying the scientific achievements across various aspects that make up the integral body of culture of the Croatian people in the European environment, the study of Croatology is dedicated to the application of such knowledge in different areas of social and cultural life. At the graduate level, one deepens the knowledge and skills previously acquired at the undergraduate level, which gives students an introduction to the elements of Croatian culture, including their historical dimension.

Hrvatski studiji Sveučilišta u Zagrebu pokrenuti su i ustrojeni 16. studenoga 1992., isprva samo kao dvosemestralni Sveučilišni komparativni studij hrvatske filozofije i društva. Taj je program potom preoblikovan u program redovitog četverogodišnjeg studija.
